After I think 6 weeks, where various team members have been on the road and spread over the continents, we have all been back in the office this week working feverishly on finishing touches for a record number of summer trips. We cannot thank our clients enough for their loyalty and it is incredibly fulfilling to have so many about to embark on amazing personalized itineraries all over the world.
Our clients most popular destinations for this summer? Italy wins, closely followed by Greece, Hawaii, France, the UK and Croatia. Most unusual? Armenia, our first ever booking to this country.
However, I'm taking you elsewhere for this weeks blog, as we head to the coolest hotels on the planet. You'll get my drift if you read on....
The Coolest Hotels on the Planet - Top 5
1. Six Senses Svart - Norway (above and below)
Northern Norway is one of the last frontiers for a self-sustainable, off-grid destination. The 94-room Six Senses Svart, set to open in 2024, combines a futuristic design and technological innovation with earthy, organic materials. Six Senses Svart will be poised on poles above the crystal-clear waters of the Holandsfjorden fjord, at the base of a glacier, and will be the first energy-positive hotel project anywhere. The result will set a new standard in carbon-neutral and eco-friendly travel.
2. White Desert, Halley - Antarctica (above and below)
White Desert earns every ounce of its title as the most remote luxury camp on the planet. Join the ranks of previous guests like Prince Harry and Bear Grylls as you settle into your eco-friendly and unexpectedly opulent spherical cabin. Savour gourmet meals prepared by your private chef, enjoy a sauna with view of the glacier, sip cocktails by the fire, and cross off bucket list adventures like visiting the South Pole, ice climbing, hiking over ice waves, and coming face-to-face with 28,000 emperor penguins.
3. The Singular, Patagonia - Chile (above and below)
A former industrial space reenvisioned as a 57-room hotel, The Singular Patagonia straddles past and future in one of the world’s last untouched swaths of wilderness. Original artifacts recall the building’s heritage, and sustainability efforts help preserve the region’s beauty for generations to come. Here you can enjoy simple luxury as you gaze upon the fjords outside your picture window. Take advantage of a wide variety of excursions – more than 20. Go sailing or trek to prehistoric caves. Kayak, fly-fish, spot condors, and travel on horseback to the top of Cerro Tenerife.
4. Winterlake Lodge - Alaska (above and below)
Situated on the western edge of the Alaska Range, Winterlake Lodge immerses you into wild, rugged mountains and glaciers. Nestled on 15 acres along mile 198 of the historic Iditarod Trail, the lodge overlooks peaceful Finger Lake – where guests arrive by floatplane in the summer and ski-plane in the winter. Fly-fish or raft remote rivers, travel by helicopter to dramatic active glaciers for summer dogsledding, or hike historic trails with opportunities to potentially view Mount Denali, North America's tallest peak. All guests receive complimentary massage, yoga, cooking classes, and wine & cheese tastings.
5. Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, Tofino - Canada
Vancouver Island’s celebrated luxury outpost Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge skirts the banks of its namesake ocean inlet, Clayoquot Sound, and offers an escape to the still, tranquil beauty of Canada’s remote wilderness. Set among magnificent conifer forests, the lodge offers guests an unforgettable experience of the landscape and its wildlife. Twenty-five canvas tents designed with contemporary interiors complement period and local artisan-designed pieces to offer a decadent retreat.
Guests have direct access to 600-acres of gloriously wild nature reserve where opportunities for adventure, education, natural enrichment and personal connection abound. Experiences span equestrian, marine-based, land-based, helicopter and fishing adventures.
