'Tis the season.
It really is time to look at those Summer plans, and for Spring Break, it is imperative you get to work soon, or you may be disappointed. Our own Caribbean specialist Tori, is currently enjoying LeBlanc Spa Resort Cancun (below). This is a wonderful 5-star adults-only property, so not the resort for your family Spring Break trip, but definitely one to bear in mind for your own getaway. Tori is also visiting The Grand at Moon Palace (see below), one of the highest rated family properties in Mexico, and this property definitely makes our recommended list for this weeks ezine.
Now clearly J5Travel can't visit every property that we are going to send clients to, but I hope we communicate enough just how much inside knowledge we do acquire through our site visits and connections. I should also add that we are always asking for feedback from our travelers, so that our recommendations are always relevant, accurate and useful.
With that in mind, here are 5 luxury options for a Spring Break at the beach with family that still have availability.

1. The Grand at Moon Palace, Cancun (below)
Among the very best all-inclusive resorts anywhere for a family trip, this outstanding 5-star resort is set in 123 acres of restful tropical gardens. Here you can simply soak up the sun, enjoy a romantic moonlight stroll on their idyllic private beach, or try out the seven outdoor pools. Children are over catered to with a huge water park and activities galore. We love the staff here who are friendly, accommodating and sincere.

2. Grand Velas Riviera Maya (above)
Another 5-star property we have personally experienced, we think Grand Velas is particularly perfect for families traveling with teens. It's a beautiful property split into beachfront and jungle sections. We enjoyed the best dining we have ever encountered at an All-Inclusive resort, and the Teens' club (below) seemed to have everything that young adults could wish for, from the pool table to video games in gaming cubicles with a 40" LED TVs, XBox Kinect, PS3, and seating with built-in speakers. I wanted to try the Karaoke in here but wasn't allowed...

3. Club Med Michès, Dominican Republic (above and cover photo)
I will go out on a limb here, and say that Club Med are not what you imagine. If you are an active family who like to be entertained for the entirety of your vacation, you should absolutely consider Club Med.
Club Med Michès is their newest property only opening a couple of months ago, and it is 5-star luxury through and through. Activities? Here's an abbreviated list...trapeze school, horse riding, yoga, fitness classes, paddleboarding, kite surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, the pools and nightly shows.
Also, it's a rather dangerous concept, but they have a Secret Chocolate room (below) for children only, that you are only allowed to enter if the family have been playing happily together and you are granted a golden ticket for the hidden door.

4. Montage Los Cabos (below)
I don't want to forget our west coast friends for whom the Caribbean is a long journey. Probably our best recommendation for families out west is Montage Los Cabos. Blending natural beauty with authentic Mexican culture, the resort is an idyllic sanctuary perched upon the premier beachfront in Cabo. Spanning 39 acres along the gentle azure waters of Santa Maria Bay, the resort features walk-in access to the finest swimming, snorkeling and diving in the region. Entry level rooms are 900sq ft and a gorgeous 2-bedroom Ocean Front Suite can sleep up to 8, and covers 2,700sq ft.

5. Sugar Beach, St Lucia (above and below)
Not as many activities here as the previous recommendations, so a good choice for a more restful trip, with perhaps some excursions to explore the island, but a remarkable property nonetheless. The hotel is set within more than 100 acres of pristine rainforest on the site of an 18th-century sugar plantation and in the embrace of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Pitons. The Sugar Club, for kids between 4 and 12, offers a range of activities including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, archery and coconut bowling, as well as fish feeding and sand castle building at the beach and ooh, every room has at least a plunge pool!
