Thanksgiving Luxury For Less Travel Ideas

While we continue to work on all the finishing touches to clients summer itineraries, it is already time to urge everyone to look ahead to holiday travel 2022/23. Inflation is a headline globally right now, and it's being seen in travel pricing for sure. Airfare is dramatically higher almost no matter where you are flying to. Increased flight demand at the same time as oil prices have surged higher is not a good mix. Accommodation costs have also risen, though this is more demand driven, and we are seeing very wide price disparities between destinations. At the top of the inflation charts for hotels are Italy and Hawaii, so be prepared for some sticker shock especially during high season, which for 2022 is effectively sold out.

However, I personally am constantly on the look for value at the luxury end of the spectrum and there are still no shortage of amazing places to explore, and for way less cost than you would expect. To make my point this weeks Top 5 features 5 hotels we have priced out for 5 nights over Thanksgiving that would provide an extraordinary experience at incredible value. We know that demand for holiday travel is going to be through the roof for the end of 2022. Commit early and you will reap the rewards of lower pricing, especially if you are open to some of this weeks highlighted destinations.

That 3 of our recommendations are Four Seasons properties is a factor of amazing pricing for dates you just would not expect, and that Kendall on the team this week enjoyed a 2-day Four Seasons Travel Industry Showcase virtual event, meeting one on one with sales managers of individual properties.

You'll see a few prices highlighted below which is not our usual method of communicating, but we think these are so good, we need to shout about them, and remember, ALL would have the addtional value we can add of full breakfast, potential upgrades, room amenity, VIP service and a hotel credit.

Guests at Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam are promised a divine stay – and not simply because the building was formerly a 15th-century convent. Tucked in the city center, along two of Amsterdam’s finest canals – Oudezijds Achterburgwal and Oudezijds Voorburgwal – this legendary hotel has been sleekly redesigned with 21st-century sensibilities. Kendall (above) stayed at Ashford Castle last November and this photo was probably the teams favorite from all our travels in 2021. Kendall has since declared it her favorite hotel anywhere. Have just a little luck with the weather and Ireland in November can be amazing.

Through the grand stone gates, a royal adventure begins. This remarkable 800-year-old castle (below), widely recognized as Ireland’s top castle destination and once home to the Guinness family, is exceptional in every sense. Set in 350 acres of woodland on the shores of Lough Corrib in County Mayo, the property has received multiple awards and accolades. Enjoy extraordinary dining experiences and fine Irish cuisine, watch hawks soar at Ireland’s first school of falconry, and restore inner peace at the state-of-the-art spa. Warm smiles from the extraordinary characters of the castle will greet you at every turn. This is Ireland's only Forbes Five Star Hotel.
