It has been a strong trend in recent years to open up the roof of any building that has a decent view. You don't even have to partake in alcoholic consumption to appreciate the aesthetics, the vibe and the unique experiences at the best rooftop bars, though a really good cocktail might assist.

Top 5 - Hotel Rooftop Bars
1. Park Hyatt, Sydney (above and below)
Available exclusively to residing guests, the rooftop bar, pool and terrace at the Park Hyatt is the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing beverage or two and a selection of favorite casual meals poolside. It has to be one of the spectacular city settings in the world, given the iconic status of both the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
2. Vertigo & Moon Bar - Banyan Tree, Bangkok (above and below)
I visited this venue myself last time in September 2022 and it ticked all the boxes for a very glamorous rooftop bar. Spectacular view, lively vibe, amazing service and some funky cocktails.
It's 61 floors up and also includes a restaurant with similar breathtaking views.
3. AER - Four Seasons Mumbai (above and below) It's a Four Seasons so the vibe is somewhat posh, definitely chic and with stunning views to boot from this open-air rooftop. Most popular cocktails are the Beet It, blending a classic G&T with beetroot, while All About Pineapple has pineapple gin, pickled pineapple brine and lime.
4. Vista Sky Bar - Hotel Mediterraneo, Sorrento (above and below)
Probably the most beautiful terrace you have ever seen, with a panorama as far as the eye can see. This is the rooftop bar at the Hotel Mediterraneo Sorrento.
The aperitif becomes a show, with a 360-degree view of the Gulf of Naples, and the perfect atmosphere for an important meeting or a romantic tête-à-tête.
5. Mithra Terrace - Mithra Cave Hotel, Cappadocia (above and below)
Mithra Hotel's restaurant/bar has a wonderful view to all of Goreme Town, Red Valley and Swords Valley. It is located at the top of this Turkish region. Enjoy the terrace all day with a beautiful open buffet breakfast and a great atmosphere. Later in the day, enjoy local tastes and drinks of the region at this perfect spot, while watching hundreds of balloons flying at the same time.
